In the past, Olive Garden came under heavy scrutiny because of their over-indulgent menu offerings. For instance their “Tour of Italy” entrée contains 3,830 milligrams of sodium and 1,450 calories. Some critics called it a “triple bypass” dish that could adversely affect someone with coronary problems.
However, Oliver Garden nutrition concerns have now been addressed by the owners and they now have healthier and more nutrition-filled choices available. According to the US Department of Agriculture’s dietary guidelines, the maximum calorie consumption of a normal adult person is 2000 calories, and no more than 2300 milligram of sodium per day. If you consume more than these amounts every single day, you will have problems with your weight, blood pressure, and heart.
Thankfully, Olive Garden has done a complete overhaul of their menu and are now offering dishes that are healthy. If you are concerned about your health and you always watch what you eat, you would never be afraid of dining in an Olive Garden location. Take their low-fat “Garden Fare” menu for instance. It contains 30 percent or less fat. This menu includes entrees that are only 380 calories and 1.5 grams of saturated fat. Their Shrimp Primavera contains 730 calories, with just 2 grams of saturated fat.
